The Task Manager in BoostSpeed offers you the same basic functions as the native Windows Task Manager. However, what is task manager? It is a tool which provides additional information at a glance with some extra functionalities. So, if you're looking to gain more control over the apps and processes running on your computer, you don't need to look far if you have Auslogics BoostSpeed installed on your PC.
Tracking running apps and processes, checking out information on what's currently open, and understanding what's eating up your system resources are mostly all you need to keep your PC running optimally in most cases. If your PC is running slow because certain apps are hogging your CPU, memory, or disk resources, firing up the Task Manager and killing the responsible program is all you have to do to keep things running smoothly.
But that's not all that you can do with the Task Manager. Different tabs in the program provide different information and allow you to carry out specific tasks.
The Users tab shows you the user accounts that are currently open and the apps running on each. Here, you can end individual apps and log out of any account.
The Performance tab shows the real-time usage of your system resources in graphical representation. And the Startup tab holds a list of programs that launch whenever Windows starts. Other tabs include the Details, Services, App History, and Performance tabs.
As you can see, the built-in Task Manager in Windows offers you a significant level of control over your PC, but what if you can do more with a third-party program?
BoostSpeed offers you a simple task manager that comes with extra features that you can't find in the Task Manager for Windows. What's more, the tool comes in a crisp user interface that makes navigation easy and fun.
If you want to enjoy the benefits of this tool, install Auslogics BoostSpeed and you'll get the most out of it and other tools integrated into the robust program. Well, how to kill Windows processes that won't respond?
To access the Task Manager in BoostSpeed, go to the Tools tab and click on Task Manager.
The interface is demarcated into two panes: the left pane where you get to navigate the different tabs in the Task Manager and the main window that displays information about the tab you select. The tabs in the left pane of the window include:
You can navigate to other tools in the left pane under the "Also see" segment. In the top corner of the left pane is the Options & Settings drop-down, which takes you to the Settings environment.
The Applications tab shows the list of currently running programs and information about each app. The tab displays the architecture of an app (whether it's a 64-bit or 32-bit program), the user running the app, and the app's rating (whether it's trusted or not). Other columns in the tab show you each app's CPU, memory, disk, and network usage.
At the bottom of the Applications tab are real-time graphs that show how your apps are using your CPU, disk, network, and RAM resources. You'll find the Close Application option at the top of the tab. It's the program's equivalent to the End Task button in the Windows Task Manager. Whenever you select an application, all you need to do to close it is hit the Close Application button.
Other buttons in the tab include the "Switch to" and "Search FileInspect" buttons. The "Search FileInspect" button helps you check the nature of a file, whether it's legitimate or malicious.
The Processes tab lists all the open third-party and system processes. Like the Applications tab, it covers which user is responsible for a process and the architecture and rating of each process. You'll also find how each process is consuming your CPU, disk, memory, and network resources.
At the top of the tab, you'll find the End Process button, which kills off a selected process; the File Properties button, which brings up detailed information about a process; and the "Search FileInspect" button, which helps you perform an online check on a process to check whether the process is safe or harmful.
The Services tab is made up of a list of services that you'll normally access via the Services.msc application. You can find detailed information about each Windows service in this tab by clicking on it and going to the bottom of the window. You can use the buttons at the top of the tab to find the process related to a service, search for details about a service online (via FileInspect), stop a service, or disable it.
The Locked Files tab shows you all the protected files on your system. You can't find this feature in the native Task Manager app in Windows. Click on a file and you'll find details about the file such as the application that locked it, its publisher, and its rating. At the top of the table, you'll find options that'll allow you to unlock a file, check its properties, and search for more details about it on the Internet via FileInspect. The Refresh button will reload the window and show you the changes you've made.
You really don't need to navigate through different system applications to tweak your computer for optimum performance if you have BoostSpeed.
