Auslogics BoostSpeed’s Internet Optimizer

These days, it’s difficult to get by with slow Internet speed since most of our daily tasks and activities are carried out online. Naturally, you would want to find ways to improve your connection speed and get online content to load faster. However, the Internet optimization process is not as simple as it seems. If you want to squeeze maximum speed from your network, then make sure you are tech-savvy enough. After all, you need to go through complex steps just to make your Internet connection run faster.

Reasons Why Your Internet Is Slow

  • Poor Wi-Fi Connection – In most cases, wirelessly connecting to your router will slow down the speed you’re paying for from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Several factors may affect your connection speed, including obstructions like furniture and walls. There may also be signal interference from other electronics like microwaves.
  • Outdated Device – It’s not likely for your Internet connection to slow down even if you’ve been using your device for more than two years. However, as modern web browsers become loaded with add-ons and extensions, you will notice a significant slowdown in your Internet speed. It can be challenging to run these programs on aging hardware.
  • Too Many Users – Data is usually delivered to connected devices in a rotating manner. The exceptions to this process are devices and routers that have multiple-input, multi-user, and multiple-output (MU-MIMO) capabilities. So, the more devices are connected to a single band, the longer it takes for your router to go back to the first.
  • Router Is Out of Sync – When several wireless devices are connected to your router, it can easily get out of sync. In this case, a simple reset will get everything back to the way it was. Shutting down and restarting your router can do wonders for your Internet connection.
  • Malware Infection – If you notice a sudden yet significant change in your Internet speed, then you should be suspicious. A malicious program may be communicating with the Internet, consuming your bandwidth. Using a comprehensive anti-virus should help you determine if this is the case. By removing the malicious entity from your computer, you can experience a connection speedup without tweaking too many settings.
  • Throttled Connection – Perhaps, you recently binge-watched Seasons 1 to 7 of Game of Thrones, or you might have downloaded your entire Steam library to your new hard drive. If something like this is the case, then it’s likely that your ISP is throttling your connection.
  • Wi-Fi Extender – Are you using a Wi-Fi extender? It may be an inexpensive way to expand the reach of your wireless signal, especially when there are dead spots in your home. That said, this device usually reduces bandwidth by 50% because of wireless backhaul traffic.
  • Technical Issues on Your ISP’s End – Sometimes, Internet issues are beyond your control. The modem and wires in your home are complex enough, but the network outside your property is much more extensive. So, there are various ways for it to fail. In this case, there’s nothing more you can do but contact your ISP and ask if there are issues with their network.

Internet Optimizer – The Convenient Option for Internet Speedup

Even with all these potential network connection issues, there are still plenty of ways that your overall Internet speed may slow down. For instance, it’s possible that while you’re trying to download a file, the server on the other end is getting slammed. Perhaps, it’s taking longer for a website to load due to unusually high traffic. Your Internet speed can also be dependent on the density of your neighborhood.

A wireless interface, issues with broadband router configurations, and other technical malfunctions can adversely affect the stability and speed of your Internet connection. Now, you might think you’ll need expert skills to be able to optimize your network performance. Thankfully, there is an easy way to speed up data access. If you’re certain that there’s nothing wrong with your hardware, then you can use Auslogics BoostSpeed’s Internet Optimizer to get the most out of your ISP contract.

Note: It is wise to check your contract with your ISP. If you are getting a speed that is lower than what your ISP promised, then you need to know how to increase WiFi signal. For instance, if you’re experiencing a measly 5 Mbps speed despite the offer of ‘up to 25 Mbps’, then BoostSpeed’s Internet Optimizer can help you achieve the maximum connection speed possible. There are some settings to tweak to improve your Internet connection. On the other hand, if your contract says you’ll get 5 Mbps and you’re getting somewhere near it, then the tool might not be beneficial for you. In this case, an upgrade would be your best bet.

One of the great things about Internet Optimizer is it analyzes the state of your connection, checking your speed before applying any tweaks. So, you’ll know what you’re dealing with and you’ll have an idea of how you can improve it. The tool will determine whether your current connection settings match your connection type, allowing you to adjust your Internet configurations to enjoy the best speed. You do not even need extensive computer knowledge to be able to use Auslogics BoostSpeed (by the way, it has more useful options, like Locked Files Manager). All you need to do is follow the instructions, then click a few intuitive buttons.

To use Internet Optimizer, you can follow these simple steps:

  1. Open Auslogics BoostSpeed, then go to All Tools.
  2. Under Internet & Browser Tools, click Internet Optimizer. The tool will load in a new tab.
  3. Now, go to the bottom of the new window, then click the ‘Check my actual Internet connection speed’ link.
  4. Note: You will be taken to a third-party site where you can test your connection speed. We suggest that you run the assessment at least five times. Calculate the average results, then compare them with what your contract promises. If the actual speed is significantly lower, then move on to the next step.
  5. To check for non-optimal connection settings, click Analyze. Once the assessment is complete, you will see the configurations that need attention.
  6. Apply the recommended tweaks by clicking Optimize. This will help to improve Wi-Fi signal or get the most out of LAN properties.

Once the process is complete, restart your PC and check your connection speed. You will notice that you have faster file download and web page loading speeds. You should enjoy a connection that is closer to what your ISP lists on your contract.
