  • You can quickly give a presentation while the projector is connected to a computer.

Whatever your reason may be, casting your Android screen to a Windows PC is quite convenient and easy. As such, we’ve listed some free apps that will let you do the aforementioned. On the other hand, before you learn how to mirror Android screen on Windows 10, you have to make sure that you’re using a device with Android 4.2 or higher. This will ensure that your smartphone or tablet can efficiently support standard wireless display for mirroring.

Note: The apps we’ve listed in this article work best for casting movies, demonstrations, pictures, and presentations. However, they are not ideal for high-end games. You might experience lags while playing and using the following apps. So, if you intend to mirror your Android screen to a PC for gaming, then it would be best to use Chromecast.

Option 1: Connect App

You can use Windows 10’s built-in Connect App. The great thing about this application is that it supports Miracast. As such, you do not have to install third-party apps just to mirror your Android screen to your Windows computer. With that said, follow the instructions below:

  1. Click the Search icon on the taskbar.
  2. Type “connect” (no quotes), then press Enter.
  3. On your Android device, tap the Cast icon on the Notification center.
  4. If you do not find the Cast icon, you can go to Settings and choose Display. Look for the Cast option.

Note: In some devices, the Cast option may be identified as ‘Wireless Display’. So, it is best to check the manufacturer’s website to know how to cast your Android screen.

  1. Go back to your PC. You will see your Android device’s screen in Connect App.

Option 2: Airdroid

Even without connecting to a WiFi network, you can use Airdroid to mirror your Android device’s screen. This free app lets you access and manage your smartphone’s or tablet’s features through a large screen. Even without ROOT, you can create a backup of your mobile device’s files to your computer. You can also record your screen, using this app. Here are the steps you should follow:

  1. Access the Google Play store on your Android device. Download the Airdroid app.
  2. Once you’ve downloaded the app, create an account.
  3. You will see an IP address on the app. Copy it and paste it to your browser.
  4. An Airdroid web UI will appear.
  5. You can now establish the connection by clicking the screenshot icon.

Option 3: TeamViewer

Using TeamViewer is another option for mirroring your Android device’s screen to a Windows computer without ROOT. However, you should know that while you can display images to a bigger screen, this app won’t let you cast the audio for videos. On the other hand, you can use this app to remotely access and troubleshoot your Android smartphone or tablet. It does not render a watermark and it functions both on WiFi and mobile data. What’s more, it incorporates a 256-bit AES encryption technology, making your casting activities more secure. With that said, follow the steps below:

  1. Access the Google Play store on your Android device.
  2. Search for the TeamViewer QuickSupport app and install it to your device.
  3. On your smartphone or tablet, launch the TeamViewer app, then go to the Home screen. Look for the unique TeamViewer ID and take note of it.
  4. Download and install the TeamViewer software on your Windows computer.
  5. Launch TeamViewer on your PC, then go to Control Remote Computer and look for the Partner ID section.
  6. In the Partner ID box, type the unique ID you got from your Android device. Click the Connect to Partner option.
  7. Switch back to your Android device. You will see an alert message asking you to grant permission to remote support. Click Allow.
  8. You can now establish a connection by clicking the Start Now button.

Option 4: Mobizen

If you want a convenient way to stream Android media to a Windows computer, you can use the Mobizen mirroring app. It enables you to use a PC to easily access photos, videos, and even call logs stored on your phone. The great thing about this app is it can function without requiring you to install any program to your desktop.

Mobizen can be downloaded for free and can stream directly over WiFi. However, it is worth noting that it comes with a watermark. On the other hand, it allows file transfer between an Android device and a Windows computer with a simple drag-and-drop function. To start casting your smartphone, follow the instructions below:

  1. Use your Android device to access the Google Play store.
  2. Look for the Mobizen app and download it to your device.
  3. Once you’ve installed the app, create an account.
  4. Go back to your Windows PC. Go to mobizen.com, then log in using the account you’ve just created.
  5. Wait for the 6-digit OTP.
  6. Switch back to your Android device.
  7. You can now establish a connection by typing in the code.

Generally, the apps we shared in this article should work with Android 4.2 devices. Moreover, they are secure and safe.
